The Miss Ebony Queen of the South Pageant empowers and uplifts Ebony teen girls through a platform that celebrates confidence, culture, and character. With mentorship, leadership, and representation, we nurture young queens to shine in their communities and beyond.
When my daughter, Kanijha Lee, and I created the Miss Ebony Queen of the South Pageant, we weren’t just starting a program—we were planting a seed. A seed of confidence, sisterhood, and self-worth in the hearts of our Ebony girls who are so often overlooked, underestimated, and unseen.
We wanted to create something that would not only celebrate them, but center them—a space where their voices, their presence, and their power are honored without apology.
This is personal. Every detail of this experience—from the workshops to the stage—is intentionally designed to uplift, affirm, and pour into our girls. This is a place where they can be loud or soft, silly or serious, bold or shy—and still be celebrated as queens.
It’s not just about crowns and titles. It’s about reminding each of them that they are already enough, already chosen, already crowned by purpose.
What we’re doing here is legacy work. We’re building confidence, cultivating leadership, and raising up young women who will shine far beyond the stage.
Thank you for believing in this vision and helping us create a powerful, lasting impact. Together, we are shaping futures and shifting narratives—one Ebony queen at a time.
With all my heart,
Katonya Palmer
Director, Miss Ebony Queen of the South Pageant
